Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To improve the quality of life in monterey county and surrounding areas by providing grants to nonprofit organizations that benefit the community in the areas of youth, education, health and human services, arts and culture, and community and environment. The foundation generates funds by arranging and managing the annual golf tournaments known as "the at&t pebble beach national pro-amateur tournament and "the pure insurance championship at pebble beach."

To enhance the quality of life in Monterey County and surrounding areas through the strategic disbursement of charitable funds generated by hosting the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and THE PURE INSURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP at Pebble Beach.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 11B: Form 990 Review Process

The 990 draft is reviewed internally by management, which included Steve John, CEO and Morgan Matthews, Executive Director. The 990 is then distributed to the audit committee. The 990 is reviewed by the audit committee and then distributed to the entire board for review and comment. Once all comments and questions are addressed by Hayashi Wayland the return is filed.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

The Conflict of Interest Declarations are updated on an annual basis and all officers, directors, and employees are encouraged to report any changes in their written declaration form immediately. Management retains the declarations and ensures that any decisions made by the officers, directors, and employees are executed based on the policy. Any instances of non-compliance are immediately reported to the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The ceo's salary was set through the contract that was agreed to at the time of hiring. The range was discussed, decided and agreed upon by the board of directors. A subsequent adjustment was made since the ceo's original contract was set. It was agreed upon by the executive committee.
