The organization maintains a website and has provided contact information therein. In addition, the organization's financial information is available on our website and the tax return is available on the guidestar website.”

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: GPFD utilizes its expertise to help other organizations evaluate and improve their programming. Partnering with Global Water Institute at the Ohio State University, GPFD provided evaluations services to the Sustainable Village Water Systems Program. The goal of this program is to improve sustainable water access and develop a workforce that can turn water and energy into economic prosperity. In addition, GPFD is providing evaluation services under the Governance Research on Water Systems (GROWS) whose goal is to identify and disseminate innovative governance models and tools that will help accelerate elimination of extreme poverty in Sub-Sharan Africa. GPFD also provided technical expertise to the Water and Development Alliance (WADA) a program with several partners including Ohio State University, Majitech, Inc. and funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and United States Agency for International Development. GPFD used its expertise and knowledge of East Africa to assist Women Saves Project work directly with women in Uganda to expand their financial knowledge. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: With support from The Brethren Community Foundation, GPFD partnered with Whittier College to create opportunities for students, faculty, and East African leaders to share ideas, collaborate and learn from one another in a cross-cultural learning environment. Whittier College Students work alongside GPFD staff and learn about grassroots development work. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic students were not able to travel to east Africa but students were given fellowships and connected to school infrastructure projects that were implemented by GPFD. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Covid-19 pandemic effects were felt in many communities in East Africa especially areas with no latrines and good running water. GPFD goal was to keep schools safe and students learning. Our teams in East Africa worked tirelessly in developing new strategies for disseminating information and soliciting ideas and feedback to ensure that work remained community-led despite national lockdowns and school closures. They specifically targeted schools with water, sanitation, and hygiene needs which resulted in installing handwashing stations, masks and sanitizing supplies all in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: GPFD Girls Education Program empowers girls and young women who otherwise would be financially unable to continue their education to attend school, inspiring them to lead productive lives and protecting them from forced early marriage. Educating a girl has a resounding impact on household health and economic wellbeing that increases exponentially. Research shows that when girls go to secondary school, they are more likely to have higher household income, fewer children, healthier children, and more educated children. GPFD began focusing on girls education 20 years ago, and we remain deeply committed to improving the quality of life and education for girls in East Africa today. Currently, we support girls education through the funding of individual secondary school and tertiary level scholarships in Kenya and Tanzania”
