Mission

GPFDs mission is to advance community-led initiatives that improve education and public health in East Africa. We envision a world in which every East African community has the capacity to implement dynamic, sustainable solutions to the challenges they face.

GPFD's mission is to take an authentic and sustainable approach to community-driven development in impoverished regions of East Africa. That means supporting schools and community-based organizations to manage education and health interventions that generate lasting change for local people.

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: The key to the success of our projects is that we work directly with local organizations, school districts, cooperatives, and community governments in East Africa. Program Partners are crucial for the success of Global Partners. By offering training and support to these key people we develop a core of experienced managers and trainers who in turn go on to train community groups to be more effective in their use of resources and be better and more knowledgeable advocates about issues which are vital for their future. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR MEDICAL DOCTORS AND SPECIALISTS FROM HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL IN CALIFORNIA PROVIDED DIRECT MEDICAL INTERVENTIONS AND TREATMENT IN TANZANIA IN COORDINATION WITH LOCAL HOSPITALS AND CLINICS IN COMMUNITIES AND REGIONS GPFD HAS HISTORICALLY PARTNERED WITH AND WORKED IN.TRAVELERS COVER 100% OF THEIR TRAVEL EXPENSES. TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT FUNDS ARE INCLUDED IN OTHER INCOME”

“Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. GPFD has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California. GPFD believes that income tax filing positions would be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on GPFDs financial position, results of operations or cash flows. Generally tax returns remain open for federal examination for three years and for four years for the State of California, from the date of filing. GPFDs policy is to classify income tax related interest and penalties, if any, in interest expense and other expenses, respectively.”

GPFD has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California. GPFD believes that income tax filing positions would be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on GPFDs financial position, results of operations or cash flows. Generally tax returns remain open for federal examination for three years and for four years for the State of California, from the date of filing. GPFDs policy is to classify income tax related interest and penalties, if any, in interest expense and other expenses, respectively.
