The Center is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. Contributions to the Center are deductible for purposes of Federal and state income taxes and are not subject to gift and estate taxes. Management believes that operations have been in accordance with its tax exempt purposes and that there is no unrelated business income. The Center's returns are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities generally for three years after they are filed.
