IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0The Women's Building Community Resource Room (CRR) - The Women's Building provided Job Search Assistance and one-on-one technology tutoring for 700 clients. When our clients are looking for a job, they are often surprised and overwhelmed to learn that most job searches and applications are done on the computer. We assist people to learn these job searching computer skills as well as how to create resumes and cover letters. The CRR's Computer Lab had 1633 client visits throughout the year. In the Computer Lab, the community can use computers to better their lives. We have "regulars" who need to check their email and drop in clients who are looking for solutions to emergencies in their lives. We have continued our expanded hours from 20 to accommodate more clients. Financial security is not just having a job. Sometimes even with steady employment our families need additional support. The Women's Building is one of the only 6 Immigrant Food Pantries in SF and Marin County. Every Monday 130 families come to our building to get additional food to supplement their shopping. They are helped by 10 bilingual volunteers and 2 staff. The Women's Building has been helping families complete their taxes for over 10 years! This year we completed 841 tax returns with the help of 42 volunteers. This was more returns than had been completed in any of our previous year. The contribution that TWB has made to the community is reflected in the following numbers: 8.3% of clients put $50 or more of their refund in a savings account; total Refund Amount this tax season: $930,260.00 and total average refund amount per person : $1,106.00. Between FY July 2018- June 2019 We processed the fingerprints of 2,586 people wanting to be reunited with their unaccompanied children in conjunction with Lutheran Immigrants and Refugees Services (LIRS). Besides fingerprinting these families, we have been able to give information and referrals to help them through their process of reunification with their children. In partnership with our In-House Organization, Immigration Center for Women and Children, we also fingerprinted 550 U Visa applicants. U Visa are United States nonimmigrant visas for victims of crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse while in the U.S. The Women's Building serves a diverse community of women (English, Spanish and Cantonese speaking) through the work of long-term bilingual volunteers. TWB has expanded and developed a strong volunteer program which includes a relationship with the University of San Francisco, where students can build a relationship with the community outside of their university. The CRR trained 131 volunteers for various programs and services, many of whom assisted us with our TWB events. 60% of volunteers stayed with us for more than 3 months, 30% of the volunteers stayed for 6 months, 15% for more than 1 year. TWB offers walk-in Legal Aid (immigration and civil). Our lawyers give consultations and referrals to our clients. This year our bilingual immigration lawyers helped 123 clients (68% women and 32% men). Our Civil Lawyer helped 169 clients with legal orientations, 82% were women. This fiscal year we were also able to bring a bilingual attorney to offer employment legal advice. We offer bilingual assistance for CalFresh screenings, applications and orientations. We completed around 20 applications with an approved average of 65 %. The clients who applied had an average income of $13, 000. The Community Resource Room organized 2 community events. 1. In collaboration with First Exposures, we organized a day of free family portraits in which more than 100 families were offered make up, hair, free photo session, printed and framed photo and a usb with all photographs taken. 362 people attended and more than 140 volunteers helped us with it. We also were able to donate 80 backpacks to the kids that came. It was a huge success! 2. We also organized a technology event called "Ask Me About Tech". More than

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0Advocacy - The Women's Building advocacy program completed its first year engaging in the movement to end sexual harassment, assault and gender based violence. Our advocacy program has joined #Metoo movement and began working with the countless women and organizations committed to ending sexual assault and harassment in one generation. In 2018-19, we were able to: educate our community, volunteers and staff about the prevalence of sexual assault & harassment in our society, specifically in San Francisco and the Bay Area; support the establishment of the Office of Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention (SHARP) in San Francisco, the first city in the country to have created this office; educate our community sisters to become advocates and activists against sexual assault and harassment for themselves and empowered them to spread our message to their particular communities, schools and/or workplaces (through our Summer Advoacy Program, held in the summer of 2019); organize and educate 11 young women (ages 16-24) to be aware of and participate in the movement to end sexual assault & harassment by graduating from our pilot Summer Advocacy Program; advocate for relevant legislation for survivors of sexual assault at the state level with specific bills aimed at the testing and auditing of rape kits; promote a survivor centered approach to addressing sexual assault & harassment that centered on marginalized women, immigrant and poor women, gender queer and trans, including promoting solutions that do not depend on our present unequal, racist and carceral system. Since July of 2018, our Advocacy Program organized the following specific events/programs: monthly film series (Fall 2018 and Spring 2019) with a community discussion after each film screening to process and raise awareness about the pervasiveness of sexual assault and harassment in women's lives. These series of films were focused on the impact of this issue on women?s education, workplaces and online. Most screenings had an audience of 8-20 people (including TWB staff) with the exception of Roll Red Roll which had over 40 people in attendance and was held in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM); The Hunting Ground, shown on Wed., August 22, 2018, to coincude with the first month of what is known as the "Red Zone", (August, September and October), the period of time when new college students are most at risk of sexual assault; Rape on the Night Shift screened on Wed., September 26th, 2018; I Am Evidence, shown on Wed., October 26th, 2018. This film dealt specifically with the issue of timely rape kit processing; Escalation, February 27, 2019 screened in conjunction with February's Teen Dating Violence Awareness month with a collaboration with the One Love Foundation; Audrie & Daisy screened on March 27, 2019. The film dealt with the intersection of social media and sexual assault; Roll Red Roll shown on April 24, 2019, as a part of TWB's recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness month. This film screened prior to its television broadcast premiere and (at the time could) only be seen in theaters! All of our film screenings were free and open to the public. Light snacks were provided along with a raffle that was held to encourage community members to stay for post movie discussions. The TWB Advocacy Program held a fundraising on November 14th, 2018, titled: "Me Too & Her & They", an evening of inspiration and motivation to end gender based violence. This event brought SF Poet Laureate Kim Schuck, Stanford Law Professor Michele Dauber and UC Davis professor Clarissa Rojas to our TWB community to discuss strategies and vision for our advocacy efforts against gender based violence. The event raised just under $4,000 for our advocacy program and had over 125 people attending. On Wednesday, January 16, 2019 our Advocacy Program organized the first of two, free, Open Mic events. The first one was focused on giving women a voice and a platform from which to speak to our
