The association made the following changes to its bylaws during the tax year: - the fiscal year will be october 1st beginning october 1, 2019. - required that at least two at-large directors be from the "supplier or consultant" membership category. - allowed the board to determine the voting rights of non-member directors upon appointment. - clearly defined quorum as 2/3 of the voting directors.

New apprenticeship program - nalp got dol recognition to administer the landscape management apprenticeship program. It offers "earn while you learn" training to apprentices, programs that should be of interest to individuals considering the landscape profession. Employers will provide 2,000 of on-the-job training to each apprentice (in prescriptive areas of study) and each employee will be required to take 144 hours of classroom/on-line instruction. Nalp is making on-line training available through a partnership with colorado state university.
