Mission

As a science and wildlife center, curiodyssey helps children acquire the tools to deeply understand the changing world. We do this by offering children real-world experiences with inquiry and investigation through interactive science exhibits, encounters with native california animals, and public and group educational programming.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

Other program services 4: school/service volunteers - curiodyssey offers an active school services program to bay area schools that includes on-site and classroom-based programs and field trips. The museum makes a special effort to accommodate schools and students who would otherwise be unable to enjoy the curiodyssey programs. Volunteers are an essential part of curiodyssey and contributed over 15,447 hours in the period across the organization - wildlife, education, outreach and administration.gardens - curiodyssey's 1.3 acres of gardens provide a beautiful and educational experience for visitors year-round. The gardens also serve as a laboratory for our classes and programs to investigate plants, insects, and birds.museum store - the curiodyssey shop fulfills another part of the organizations educational goal by allowing visitors and members to purchase books and merchandise that directly relate to its mission.

Campaign for CuriOdyssey: Building the Minds of Tomorrow Today

On october 1, 2011, the board of trustees began a comprehensive capital campaign for the purposes of ensuring the sustainability and mission of the organization. The comprehensive campaign aims to raise funds for a new science facility as well as funds for the operating budget through annual contributions. Specifically, contributions allocated to campaign will support: 1) program costs over the term of the campaign through our goals for annual grants and gifts; and 2) facility project costs, including a complete renovation of the main building, interim staging, campaign costs, and contingencies. Of the total contributions and grants, $3,420,412 includes all gifts through the regular annual fund and campaign-specific solicitations.
