“Once the 990 tax return is completed by the professional tax preparer, it is forwarded to the operations director and the outsourced accountant of the organization for their review. All questions are then posed to the preparer and once these questions are answered, the 990 tax return is then forwarded to the executive director for her review. Once the executive director is satisfied with the contents of the 990 tax return, it is forwarded to the board members for their review. The board is provided a period of time to ask questions that they may have. After all questions, if any are answered, the board provides approval to the executive director to execute the 990 tax return and to file it with the internal revenue service”
“Annually the members board addresses conflict of interest. They are required to disclose whether they are aware of any situations that could give rise to a conflict of interest. In the event there is a conflict of interest during the year, the board member is required to recuse themselves from the discussion and vote.”

“In-person strozzi somatics training classes sis offers in-person courses that follow a carefully designed curriculum that begins with the foundational "embodied transformation" course and continues with advanced courses. A.embodied transformation the 4-day, in-person embodied transformation course provides the foundational introduction to strozzi somatics. This course serves community and social change leaders who recognize the need for more connection and collaboration as they work towards social and environmental change; and others wanting to become more centered as they support their communities. We project that over 300 individuals will complete this course in 2024 in california, washington, dc, new york, and europe. B.somatic bodywork sis offers advanced coursework in somatic bodywork, which incorporates breath, movement, touch, energy and the physical body. This course builds off of the foundation of embodied transformation and supports therapeutic healing to enable participants to lead their lives and organizations in more impactful ways. This course is a 5-day course offered three times per year in petaluma, california. We project that 50 to 80 people will complete this course in 2024. C.somatics, trauma, and resilience somatics, trauma & resilience is an advanced-level course designed and led by staci k. Over four days, participants are guided through addressing existing traumas and practicing transformative tools for healing and resilience. Participants are led to deeply explore the short and long-term impacts of trauma on the mind, body, emotions, and relationships, regenerate a sense of safety from the inside out. This course also teaches participants how to assess their own competence with healing trauma - to con?dently know when to engage further support or refer a client or team member to a trauma specialist. This course is a 4-day course offered once per year in oakland, california. We project that 30 to 40 individuals will complete this course in 2024. “Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in the institute's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of "more likely than not" for recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The institute performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended december 31, 2024, and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. As of december 31, 2024, the statute of limitations for the tax year 2023 remains open with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction or the various states and local jurisdictions in which the institute files tax returns. It is the institute's policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expense. As of december 31, 2024, the institute had no accruals for interest and/or penalties.”

AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2024, THE INSTITUTE HAD NO ACCRUALS FOR INTEREST AND/OR PENALTIES. |
