Profile
Providing clothing and essential items to unsheltered people; gifting 7 day wardrobes to children who are placed into emergency foster care; getting clean clothing to survivors of disasters; reducing textile waste from landfills and incineration by being good stewards of resources. Our goal is to alleviate 2 burdens at one time: get essential items to those in need and reduce textile waste from landfills and incineration by being good stewards of resources. To reduce waste, we accept employee uniforms and clothing that have company logos on them which are usually unable to be donated. We remove the logos and branding and relabel them so that they can used again allowing us to delay thousands of pounds of waste from entering the disposal stream. We acquire clothing items from 3 primary sources: corporate donations, current and former employees with uniforms and branded-logo apparel, and the general public.

The organization provides clothing and essential items to unsheltered individuals, survivors of disasters, and children and families in need, while actively reducing textile waste through responsible resource stewardship. Our mission addresses two critical needs simultaneously: alleviating hardship by supplying essential goods to vulnerable populations and diverting reusable textiles from landfills and incineration. To further our waste-reduction goals, we accept employee uniforms and branded apparel that would otherwise be discarded. Logos and identifying marks are carefully removed, and items are relabeled for redistribution, preventing thousands of pounds of textiles from entering the disposal stream each year. Clothing and essential goods are sourced through three primary channels: corporate donations, contributions from current and former employees with branded or uniform items, and donations from the general public.

| During the reporting year, the organization provided essential assistance to more than 500 individuals, including children, families, people experiencing homelessness, and survivors of disasters. Through coordinated outreach and distribution programs, we supplied critical winter and cold-weather items to meet urgent needs. Distributed items included 93 winter coats, 111 blankets, 126 knit hats, 22 scarves, 49 pairs of gloves, over 310 articles of clothing, 126 pairs of socks, 25 pairs of boots and shoes, and other vital essentials. Specialized cold-weather packs were assembled and distributed to unsheltered individuals, containing hats, gloves, socks, and hand warmers to provide warmth and protection during severe weather conditions. In response to disaster-related needs, we provided furniture, bedding, and housewares to a family displaced by Hurricane Helene, helping them reestablish stability and comfort in their home. Additional support, including bedding, housewares, and furniture, was provided to multiple individuals and families transitioning from shelters into permanent housing. The organization also supported early childhood development by providing art and craft supplies, books, and toys to preschool children, encouraging creativity, play, and learning. In support of environmental sustainability, we recycled, reused, or repurposed more than 50 pounds of cardboard and plastic materials. Through our textile reuse initiatives, we diverted over one ton of material-equivalent to more than 550 cubic feet-from the waste stream, reducing environmental impact and advancing responsible resource stewardship. | $0 | $9,726 |
