Each director shall be elected to a two year term and shall continue to serve on the board until his/her successor has been elected and qualifies, or until his/her earlier resignation, removal or disqualification.”

“A copy of the 990 is provided to each member of the board for his/her review. After review, the board discusses any potential issues or changes. Once approved, the 990 is filed with the irs.”

“The organization's conflict of interest policy covers all members of the board. Members are required to immediately notify the board if they become aware of a conflict between themselves and any person/entity doing business with the organization. When such conflicts arise, the conflicted board member recuses himself from participating in the board's deliberations and decision in the transaction.”

“The executive director is a full time employee and paid a salary to lead the organization and focus all of his business time working on policy initiatives. In an attempt to establish a reasonable and fair compensation level for the executive director, the organization researched salary data for similar positions at organizations operating in the same space as the organization. The compensation of the executive director is approved by disinterested members of the board of the directors of the organization.”

“The organization's governing documents and financial statements are available to the public at the organization's place of business. Copies are also available by mail upon request.”
