The bakersfield pregnancy center foundation relies on self-reporting of potential conflicts in seeking vendors and contractors for the business. The executive director brings any potentially conflicting situations to the board of directors for review. The monitoring and enforcement of conflicts of interest is written in the organization's policy and procedures.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

1. The board of directors at the time of hiring and annually thereafter review and approve compensation packages for the ceo, executive director, and other top management officials of the center. All compensation packages and levels of compensation shall conform to guidelines issued by the internal revenue service. 2. If member of the board has a conflict of interest (as defined by the center's conflict of interest policy) with respect to the compensation arrangement at issue, such person shall not participate in the review and/or approval of said compensation package and their non-participation shall be documented in the minutes. 3. In determining reasonable executive compensation, the board of directors shall obtain data on comparable compensation for similarly qualified persons in functionally comparable positions at similarly situated organizations. At least three comparables shall be obtained. The personnel committee shall compile this data at least every three years and the data shall be retained with the minutes for the meeting wherein the board reviewed said documents.
