Preserve north tahoe, inc. Whistleblower policy purpose the purpose of this whistleblower policy is to provide guidelines for reporting and handling concerns about illegal or unethical activities within preserve north tahoe, inc. (the organization"). This policy is intended to encourage and enable employees, volunteers, and others to raise serious concerns internally so that the organization can address and correct inappropriate conduct and actions. Scope this policy applies to all employees, volunteers, contractors, and board members of preserve north tahoe, inc. Policy preserve north tahoe, inc. Is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. The organization encourages its employees and stakeholders to report any activity they reasonably believe violates laws, regulations, or organizational policies. Reporting responsibility it is the responsibility of all employees, volunteers, and stakeholders to report concerns about violations of preserve north tahoe, inc.'s code of ethics, policies, or suspected violations of law or regulations that govern the organization's operations. No retaliation no employee, volunteer, or stakeholder who in good faith reports a violation shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or adverse employment consequence. An employee or volunteer who retaliates against someone who has reported a violation in good faith is subject to discipline, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer duties. Reporting procedure 1. Internal reporting: o concerns should be reported to the executive director or a designated whistleblower protection officer. O if the concern involves the executive director, or if the reporter is not comfortable speaking with the executive director, the report should be made to the chair of the board of directors. 2. Confidentiality: o reports may be submitted anonymously. O the organization will make every effort to protect the confidentiality of the reporter, consistent with the need to conduct an adequate investigation. Handling of reported violations 1. Review and investigation: o all reports will be promptly investigated, and appropriate corrective action will be taken if warranted by the investigation. O the executive director or whistleblower protection officer will acknowledge receipt of the report within five business days for non-anonymous reports. O the reporter may be informed of the outcome of the investigation, if appropriate. 2. Board oversight: o the board of directors will be informed of all reported concerns and the outcomes of the investigations. Acting in good faith anyone filing a complaint concerning a violation or suspected violation must act in good faith and have reasonable grounds for believing the information disclosed indicates a violation. Any allegations that prove not to be substantiated and which prove to have been made maliciously or knowingly to be false will be viewed as a serious disciplinary offense. Documentation the organization will maintain a log of all reported concerns, the status of the investigations, and the outcomes. The log will be reviewed periodically by the board of directors. Training and awareness all employees and volunteers will receive training on this policy during orientation and through periodic refresher sessions to ensure that they understand their rights and responsibilities under this policy. Policy review this policy will be reviewed annually by the board of directors to ensure it is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and reflects the organization's commitment to ethical conduct. WHISTLEBLOWER POLICY PURPOSE THE PURPOSE OF THIS WHISTLEBLOWER POLICY IS TO PROVIDE GUIDELINES FOR REPORTING AND HANDLING CONCERNS ABOUT ILLEGAL OR UNETHICAL ACTIVITIES WITHIN PRESERVE NORTH TAHOE, INC. (THE ORGANIZATION"). THIS POLICY IS INTENDED TO ENCOURAGE AND ENABLE EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND OTHERS TO RAISE SERIOUS CONCERNS INTERNALLY SO THAT THE ORGANIZATION CAN ADDRESS AND CORRECT INAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT AND ACTIONS. SCOPE THIS POLICY APPLIES TO ALL EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND BOARD MEMBERS OF PRESERVE NORTH TAHOE, INC. POLICY PRESERVE NORTH TAHOE, INC. IS COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF ETHICAL CONDUCT AND COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS, REGULATIONS, AND POLICIES. THE ORGANIZATION ENCOURAGES ITS EMPLOYEES AND STAKEHOLDERS TO REPORT ANY ACTIVITY THEY REASONABLY BELIEVE VIOLATES LAWS, REGULATIONS, OR ORGANIZATIONAL POLICIES. REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND STAKEHOLDERS TO REPORT CONCERNS ABOUT VIOLATIONS OF PRESERVE NORTH TAHOE, INC.'S CODE OF ETHICS, POLICIES, OR SUSPECTED VIOLATIONS OF LAW OR REGULATIONS THAT GOVERN THE ORGANIZATION'S OPERATIONS. NO RETALIATION NO EMPLOYEE, VOLUNTEER, OR STAKEHOLDER WHO IN GOOD FAITH REPORTS A VIOLATION SHALL SUFFER HARASSMENT, RETALIATION, OR ADVERSE EMPLOYMENT CONSEQUENCE. AN EMPLOYEE OR VOLUNTEER WHO RETALIATES AGAINST SOMEONE WHO HAS REPORTED A VIOLATION IN GOOD FAITH IS SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINE, UP TO AND INCLUDING TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT OR VOLUNTEER DUTIES. REPORTING PROCEDURE 1. INTERNAL REPORTING: O CONCERNS SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OR A DESIGNATED WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION OFFICER. O IF THE CONCERN INVOLVES THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, OR IF THE REPORTER IS NOT COMFORTABLE SPEAKING WITH THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE REPORT SHOULD BE MADE TO THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. 2. CONFIDENTIALITY: O REPORTS MAY BE SUBMITTED ANONYMOUSLY. O THE ORGANIZATION WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO PROTECT THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE REPORTER, CONSISTENT WITH THE NEED TO CONDUCT AN ADEQUATE INVESTIGATION. HANDLING OF REPORTED VIOLATIONS 1. REVIEW AND INVESTIGATION: O ALL REPORTS WILL BE PROMPTLY INVESTIGATED, AND APPROPRIATE CORRECTIVE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN IF WARRANTED BY THE INVESTIGATION. O THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OR WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION OFFICER WILL ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THE REPORT WITHIN FIVE BUSINESS DAYS FOR NON-ANONYMOUS REPORTS. O THE REPORTER MAY BE INFORMED OF THE OUTCOME OF THE INVESTIGATION, IF APPROPRIATE. 2. BOARD OVERSIGHT: O THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL BE INFORMED OF ALL REPORTED CONCERNS AND THE OUTCOMES OF THE INVESTIGATIONS. ACTING IN GOOD FAITH ANYONE FILING A COMPLAINT CONCERNING A VIOLATION OR SUSPECTED VIOLATION MUST ACT IN GOOD FAITH AND HAVE REASONABLE GROUNDS FOR BELIEVING THE INFORMATION DISCLOSED INDICATES A VIOLATION. ANY ALLEGATIONS THAT PROVE NOT TO BE SUBSTANTIATED AND WHICH PROVE TO HAVE BEEN MADE MALICIOUSLY OR KNOWINGLY TO BE FALSE WILL BE VIEWED AS A SERIOUS DISCIPLINARY OFFENSE. DOCUMENTATION THE ORGANIZATION WILL MAINTAIN A LOG OF ALL REPORTED CONCERNS, THE STATUS OF THE INVESTIGATIONS, AND THE OUTCOMES. THE LOG WILL BE REVIEWED PERIODICALLY BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. TRAINING AND AWARENESS ALL EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS WILL RECEIVE TRAINING ON THIS POLICY DURING ORIENTATION AND THROUGH PERIODIC REFRESHER SESSIONS TO ENSURE THAT THEY UNDERSTAND THEIR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THIS POLICY. POLICY REVIEW THIS POLICY WILL BE REVIEWED ANNUALLY BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO ENSURE IT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE LAWS AND REGULATIONS AND REFLECTS THE ORGANIZATION'S COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL CONDUCT.
