Direct Peer Support Services: OUR Place operates a peer-led recovery community center open seven days per week, including holidays, providing daily support services for individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health challenges. The center is staffed with certified peer supporters and trained volunteers provided ongoing one-on-one peer support, mentoring, recovery planning, and system navigation. The center averaged over 1,000 recovery support interactions monthly and approximately 14,000 recovery-related contacts annually across on-site engagement, outreach, and navigation services, supporting stabilization, recovery capital development, and long-term recovery outcomes.$0$53,681
Healthy Pro-Social Alcohol and Drug-Free Activities & Events: The organization provided structured sober social programming including recovery meetings, wellness activities, educational workshops, creative programming, and community meals. Approximately 23 weekly meetings and group activities were hosted in a safe substance-free environment to reduce isolation and strengthen recovery support networks for participants and families. The organization also conducted approximately 6-8 larger annual recovery-supportive community events, including an Overdose Awareness Day memorial event, Sober October recovery celebration, holiday family activities, and other substance-free community gatherings designed to engage individuals and families in recovery-supportive environments.$0$26,840
Recovery and Harm Reduction Outreach: Staff and trained peer supporters conducted ongoing community outreach providing overdose prevention education, recovery information, and immediate support to individuals not yet engaged in services. Outreach included distribution of approximately 1,153 naloxone (Narcan) kits and fentanyl test strips, sharing recovery meeting schedules, and referrals to detoxification, treatment providers, recovery housing, and social services. Outreach served as a primary entry point into recovery services and increased engagement with care among high-risk individuals$0$26,840

Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 8

Miscellaneous program-related income, small craft and merchandise sales, and facility-related receipts.

Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 16

Program supplies and materials, recovery support activities, outreach and community events, insurance, software and office expenses, training, and general administrative costs necessary for operation of the recovery community center, including costs of goods for small fundraising and merchandise activities.

Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 20

During preparation of the 2024 Form 990-EZ, the organization reconciled financial records and discovered that certain electronic payment platform balances (including PayPal, Venmo, and similar accounts) carried forward from the prior year had been recorded as current-year activity in the accounting records. The organization reconstructed beginning balances using available bank records and determined that a portion of recorded 2024 activity represented prior-period funds rather than current-year income. An adjustment to net assets was therefore required to properly align beginning and ending net assets. This entry reflects a prior-period accounting correction and does not represent current-year revenue or expense.

ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0The organization experienced a disruption in its accounting and recordkeeping during the tax year when prior financial records were discovered to be incomplete and not properly maintained. Upon discovery, the organization's officers undertook a full reconstruction and reconciliation of financial records using bank statements and accounting software to ensure accuracy and transparency before filing. Due to the time required to reconstruct and verify the records, the return could not be filed by the original deadline. The organization has now implemented improved bookkeeping oversight and procedures to ensure timely filing in future years.
