Additional Explanations

Part I Line 1

Stand in the Gap Foundation empowers former January 6th defendants to overcome trauma, rebuild relationships, and restore their futures. Through targeted programs providing housing, vehicles, counseling, and confidential peer support, the organization addresses ongoing emotional, practical, and financial challenges beyond legal proceedings.

Part III Line4a

Program Service Accomplishments The organization?s largest program service is providing direct grants and assistance to domestic individuals. In 2025, the Foundation distributed $380,000 in grants and direct aid. These funds supported recipients with legal funding, emergency housing, living expenses, vehicle assistance, counseling, and other essential needs. This assistance is the core of the organization?s exempt purpose.

Part IX Functional Expense Allocation

Functional Expense Allocation The organization allocates its expenses among three functional categories: Program Services, Management and General, and Fundraising. ? Program Services include all direct grants and assistance provided to individuals ($380,000). ? Management and General expenses include salaries, employee benefits, office costs, software (non-marketing), legal, phone, shipping, bank fees, and interest. ? Fundraising expenses include staff travel to events and speaking engagements, meals at fundraising activities, and all advertising and promotion costs (Anedot processing fees, Hubspot marketing, and Apple Card marketing-related expenses). All allocations were determined using the organization?s best judgment based on the nature of each expense.

Part XI Part X

Reconciliation of Net Assets / Balance Sheet The organization uses the cash basis of accounting. Because this is the organization?s second year of operation and the 2024 Form 990 has not yet been filed, the beginning-of-year balances shown on Part X and Part XI are reported as zero pending completion of the prior-year return. Note Regarding Prior Year Return The organization has not yet filed its 2024 Form 990. Management intends to file the 2024 return as soon as possible. The 2025 return is being filed on a timely basis with the best available information. General The organization maintains records to substantiate the amount of all grants, the eligibility of recipients, and the selection criteria used. No professional fundraising services were used during the year.
