Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III

Antique powerland museum association is dedicated to educating the public about the agricultural and industrial equipment and technology used during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We operate a 62 acre museum campus where 14 other museum organizations conduct their activities. On the campus we have museum groups dedicated to a range of historical equipment such as farm tractors and implements, trains, trolleys, steam-powered equipment, blacksmithing, transport trucks, logging equipment, the fire service, and vintage automobiles and motorcycles.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

The great oregon steam-up annual event, hosted about 20,000 guests over two weekends. It is a living history exhibition at our museum campus. The event features fourteen local museum groups, as well as several visiting historical groups and preservationists. The event is dedicated to demonstrating agricultural and industrial equipment and artifacts in order to educate the public and preserve our heritage. People attended from eight states and six countries. The event is 99.5% developed and run by volunteers. Over 300 volunteers gave many hours in 2023. The organization has about 40 volunteers that work year-round in roles ranging from board service, to mowing, pounding nails, and operating machinery. Two of these volunteers generally worked five days per week. In addition to the stem-up event the organization hosted several other events throughout the year for organizations dedicated to education and preservation of antique cars, tractors, trucks, motorcycles, trains, and electric trolleys. The events attracted over 5,000 people to the museum campus. Antique powerland museum association continues to develop our museum campus into a high-class living history museum. We continued to expand the depth and breadth of our on-site exhibits. We have hosted field trips and educational events for local schools and the boy scouts, and we are pursuing additional educational opportunities with local schools and community organizations. In total we had about 18,000 visitors to our museum this year.
