| IRS990/Desc | 0 | POLICY & ADVOCACY: STRENGTHENING OREGON'S FOUNDATION FOR CHILD SUCCESSOUR CHILDREN OREGON IS COMMITTED TO CREATING AN EQUITABLE ENVIRONMENT WHERE ALL CHILDREN IN OUR STATE CAN THRIVE. WE RECOGNIZE THAT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES REQUIRE ACCESS TO ESSENTIAL RESOURCES ACROSS FIVE KEY DOMAINS: CLIMATE & SUSTAINABILITY, ECONOMIC WELL-BEING, PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND FAMILY & COMMUNITY. OUR WORK FOCUSES ON ADDRESSING DISPARITIES IN ACCESS TO THESE RESOURCES, WHICH CAN VARY DUE TO FACTORS SUCH AS LOCATION, IDENTITY, LANGUAGE, AND ABILITY.THE CHILDREN'S AGENDA: A STRATEGIC APPROACHTO ADDRESS THESE CHALLENGES, WE'VE DEVELOPED THE CHILDREN'S AGENDA, A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE FOR STATE LEGISLATORS. THIS AGENDA PRIORITIZES POLICY SOLUTIONS THAT TARGET THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES FACING OREGON'S CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. BY PROVIDING THIS ROADMAP, WE AIM TO INFORM AND INFLUENCE POLICY CHANGES AND FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS THAT CAN IMPROVE AND EXPAND ACCESS TO VITAL RESOURCES STATEWIDE.COLLABORATIVE ADVOCACY IN ACTIONOUR STRENGTH LIES IN OUR COLLABORATIVE APPROACH. OUR CHILDREN OREGON HAS CULTIVATED A NETWORK OF 140 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS FROM ACROSS THE STATE, REPRESENTING A DIVERSE RANGE OF EXPERTISE IN CHILD AND FAMILY ISSUES. THESE PARTNERS CONVENE VIRTUALLY AT LEAST MONTHLY PRIOR TO EACH LEGISLATIVE SESSION, SHARING KNOWLEDGE AND PERSPECTIVES THAT SHAPE OUR POLICY PRIORITIES AND STRATEGIES. IN FY 2023-2024, WE EXPANDED THIS COALITION, WELCOMING APPROXIMATELY 10 NEW PARTNERS TO THE CHILDREN'S AGENDA.MEASURABLE IMPACTTHE EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR WORK AND APPROACH WAS EVIDENT IN THE 2023 LEGISLATIVE SESSION. DESPITE IT BEING A SHORT SESSION, 8 OUT OF 10 OF OUR COALITION-DRIVEN CONCEPTS WERE SUCCESSFULLY ENACTED INTO LAW. THIS LEGISLATIVE SUCCESS TRANSLATED INTO A SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL COMMITMENT, WITH $293.6 MILLION IN RESOURCES ALLOCATED FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ACROSS OREGON.THESE ACHIEVEMENTS DEMONSTRATE THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE IMPACT AND THE VALUE OF OUR ORGANIZATION'S ROLE IN FACILITATING COLLABORATIVE ADVOCACY. BY BRINGING TOGETHER DIVERSE VOICES AND EXPERTISE, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE SUBSTANTIAL POLICY CHANGES AND SECURE IMPORTANT INVESTMENTS IN OREGON'S FUTURE.OUR WORK CONTINUES AS WE STRIVE TO CREATE SYSTEMIC SOLUTIONS THAT WILL PROVIDE A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR OREGON'S CHILDREN, BOTH NOW AND FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. THROUGH OUR EFFORTS, WE'RE MAKING MEASURABLE PROGRESS TOWARDS AN OREGON WHERE EVERY CHILD HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. |
