“Achievement 1 Continued Oregon Green Schools partners with over 30 different organizations which provide individuals who volunteer to be Regional Resource Coordinators. These coordinators: - Provide support and direction to the teacher or other adult volunteer at each school and to the schools student Green Teams. - Actively promote the mission and goals of OGS by encouraging schools to adopt the Green Schools curriculum. - Work with schools to complete all their requirements to achieve and maintain their Green Schools status. regions to connect programming, share tools, and collaborate on action plans. The PDX Chapter serves students and communities in Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas counties. The Eastern/Central Oregon chapter serves several counties including Deschutes, Umatilla, Union, Crook, and Jefferson. The chapter model promotes cost sharing, furthers sustainability initiatives, and builds upon existing relationships. Oregon Green Schools prvides support to K-12 schools throughout Oregon in their efforts to a comprehensive certification framework, student events, and a network of regional coordinators that provide coaching and technical assistance. Our certification tracks include Waste, Reuse & Recycling, Green Lunchrooms, Energy Conservation, Gardens & Grounds, and Walk & Roll to School. These tracks and the process to certify is being reviewed and updated. Oregon Green Schools has partnerships with Eco-Schools USA and Oregon Metro that help OGS achieve its mission and goals. OGSs niche in the Oregon environmental education sector is nurturing a network and creating relationships with educators, government agencies, and sustainability professionals. OGS serves as a resource hub connecting organizations and schools, fostering innovation, and avoiding duplicating services.”
