THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED A THANK YOU DINNER FOR 45 VOLUNTEERS WHO RUN THE COMMUNITY FOOD BANK. THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORED A FATHER/DAUGHTER EVENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PORTLAND SUPERHERO COALITION, PROVIDING TOYS AND SUPERHERO VISITS TO 150 TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN REGIONALLY. THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED IN CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL PEACE MONTH IN SHERWOOD, SPONSORING A PEACE POLE. THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH SHERWOOD FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY TO FUND ACQUISITIONS TO THE CHILDREN'S BILINGUAL COLLECTION, ENCOURAGING LITERACY AMONG OUR REGION'S LATINO AND SPANISH SPEAKING COMMUNITY. INTERNATIONALLY: THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED ITS PROJECT IN MEXICO AT A RURAL SCHOOL OF 200 STUDENTS, PROVIDING SCIENCE LAB SUPPORT AND BOOKS, BOTH TO THE SCHOOL'S LIBRARY AND CLASSROOM SETS OF BOOKS TO FOSTER LITERACY. |
