Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

The form 990 is prepared by an independent accountant, is based on our audited financial statements, and is reviewed by both the cfo and president and ceo. The form 990 is also reviewed by the finance committee, the treasurer, and the chairman of the board before filing. The audited financial statements are reviewed by the cfo, president and ceo, and finance committee. The audited financials are approved by the full board after presentation by the auditor.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

When new board members are approved they sign the conflict of interest form. In addition, board members renew by signing the form again at the first board meeting of the fiscal year.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

With every new employee, the institute undertakes an informal data collection of wage information of comparable positions in comparable organizations. In addition, we have used survey data compiled by outside sources as a guide. The board of directors provides an annual review of the president and ceo. The president and ceo provides an annual written and verbal review of key employees.
