West tuality habitat for humanity is committed to bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. With the help of donors, volunteers and sponsors, we team up with local families in western washington county oregon to buld homes with an affordable mortgage and do critical home repairs.

Part IV, Line 2B: Explanation of escrow account liability

The organization requires partner families to submit monthly payments for insurance and property taxes, and the organization pays the related bills. This service assists the families in ensuring that payments are provided for and are made on a timely basis. A separate bank account is maintained to hold these funds until the related payments are made by the organization, and these funds are not otherwise available for use by the organization.

AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP HELPS CREATE THE CONDITIONS THAT FREE FAMILIES FROM INSTABILITY, STRESS AND FEAR AND ENCOURAGE SELF-RELIANCE AND CONFIDENCE. OWNING AN AFFORDABLE HOME ALSO ALLOWS HOMEOWNERS TO LIFT UP THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY BY SAVING FOR THEIR FUTURES AND INVESTING IN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, BOLSTERING JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND LONG-TERM CAREER GROWTH. PROJECTS CONSIST OF INTERIOR AND/OR EXTERIOR REPAIRS INTENDED TO ALLEVIATE CRITICAL HEALTH, LIFE AND SAFETY ISSUES OR CODE VIOLATIONS. VOLUNTEER TEAMS WORK ALONG WITH SUBCONTRACTORS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF WEST TUALITY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY STAFF MEMBERS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS. FOR ELDERLY RESIDENTS, OUR PERSON-CENTERED APPROACH USES TWO DIFFERENT ASSESSMENTS TO TAILOR THE PROCESS TO EACH HOMEOWNERS NEEDS. THESE ASSESSMENTS, WHICH CONSIDER EVERYTHING FROM THE RESIDENTS LIFESTYLE TO THEIR TYPE OF HOME, ALLOW US TO ADDRESS OLDER ADULTS NEEDS HOLISTICALLY, IMPROVING THE LIKELIHOOD THAT THEY CAN AGE IN PLACE. SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE HOME PRESERVATION PROGRAM, WEST TUALITY HABITAT HAS PARTNERED WITH MORE THAN 450 LOCAL HOMEOWNERS, WITH 220 PERSONS SERVED DURING THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2024. FINANCIAL AND HOMEBUYER EDUCATION PROGRAMS AS PART OF THE HOMEOWNERSHIP PROCESS, WE BELIEVE FINANCIAL EDUCATION BUILDS A MORE SOLID FOUNDATION FOR LONG-TERM PERSONAL SUCCESS AND HELPS ALLEVIATE ANY CONCERNS OR BARRIERS ON THE PATH TO HOMEOWNERSHIP. DURING THESE FINANCIAL EDUCATION CLASSES, WE COVER TOPICS SUCH AS BUDGETING; CREDIT CARDS AND CREDIT REPORTS; DEBT AND LOANS; SAVING, INVESTING AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE; EMERGENCY SITUATIONS; AND HABITAT HOMEOWNER MORTGAGES. A MORE IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THESE IMPORTANT CONCEPTS IS A TOOL THAT CAN BE USED TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE.
