The informational tax return is reviewed by the finance committee which consists of the treasurer, an additional board member and the executive director prior to filing with the irs and state taxing authority.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Board members, officers, and key employees are required annually to disclose any possible conflicts of interest. This policy is monitored by self-disclosure.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The board of directors reviews the performance of the executive director annually. The board has developed a form that uses an objective scale rating system, and utilizes an opinion survey in order to collect feedback from employees. At the annual review, the board gathers and analyzes data, obtained from other oregon habitat affiliates and nonprofits, on compensation for comparable positions. The executive committee then determines compensation for the upcoming year for the executive director.
