“Due to covid, a number of our usual activities were cancelled last year. No swap meets, no pray for wind party for our youth groms sailing program, and no meetings in person. However, we were able to safely continue providing sailing equipment for usage in our highly successful groms program, along with pfds, helmets, wetsuits and booties. Additionally we hosted safely run beach cleanups throughout the gorge in association with both the oregon and washington parks departments. We continued to lobby for recreation river access within a seven county bi-state area, as well as working with local native american tribes and their fisheries to insure their security. We began an effort with the town of lyle, the county and the washington state parks department to work with the railroad on a safe access to the popular klickitat river sandbar kiting area. Our privately owned swell city sailing site continues to be safely and heavily used, and is considered one of the most famous sites in the world.”
