To improve the public's total health, the mission of the oregon dental hygienists association is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring the public's direct access to quality oral health care, increasing awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research, and representing and promoting the interest of dental hygienists.
The purpose and the powers of the Oregon Dental Hygienists Association are: 1. To improve the oral health of the public. 2. To maintain the highest standards of dental hygiene education and practice. 3. To represent and protect the interests of the dental hygiene profession. 4. To improve the professional competence of the dental hygienist. 5. To foster research in oral health. 6. To engage in any lawful activity for which corporations may be organized.
