Determination of executive directors compensation: district 4 coalition, using the non profit association of oregon's salary guide, determined the closest average for an executive director with similar job descriptions. A committee of the board of directors used this amount, compared with other city of portland neighborhood coalitions, and reported back to the board of directors for approval. Similar process is used for determining compensation of other key employees.
