The pastoral landscape is strewn with disheartened and burnt-out pastors who have become disillusioned with their profession. Many have joined the "great resignation" wave after the covid-19 pandemic and left the ministry. The profession is rife with dysfunctional obstacles, making it understandably challenging. Our belief is that self-awareness is crucial for pastors to not just survive but also prosper, regardless of the difficulties and obstacles they encounter in their vocation. We envision every pastor engaging with cultivate growing physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, with the wise guidance of experienced pastors who have faced similar challenges. Our hope is that each pastor engaged with cultivate will never feel alone, will be on a trajectory of personal growth, and finding joy in their ministry despite the challenges. Heres a small snapshot: 42% of pastors have considered quitting full-time ministry due to stress, isolation, and political division. 75% report experiencing significant stress-related crises during their ministry. 70% of pastors say they dont have close friends. 80% of pastors believe pastoral ministry has negatively affected their families. 84% of pastors feel they are on call 24/7. This is the work of cutivate: leveraging the experience of seasoned pastoral work to come alongside pastors with coaching, spiritual direction, and support.
