| CREATEACCESS BROADENS ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITIES IN 3D TECHNOLOGY BY PROVIDING ONRAMPS TO 3D CREATION THROUGH EXPOSURE EDUCATION IN FOUR PRIMARY WAYS:1. FACILITATING IN-PERSON 3D CREATOR PROGRAMS IN CREATEACCESS' LOCAL COMMUNITY, WITH A FOCUS ON THOSE WITH LIMITED PREVIOUS EXPOSURE TO 3D TECH AND/OR WHO EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY GAPS. 2. DEVELOPING AND PUBLISHING FREELY-AVAILABLE, BEGINNER-FOCUSED 3D CREATION EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ("MICROCOURSES") ON THE CREATEACCESS WEBSITE. 3. SUPPORTING A ROBUST INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AND EMERGING PROFESSIONALS.4. INCREASING AWARENESS OF OPPORTUNITIES IN 3D CREATION IN THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE. THE 2024 OUTCOMES OF EACH OF THESE ACTIVITIES WERE AS FOLLOWS:1. CREATEACCESS FACILITATED 19 IN-PERSON 3D CREATOR PROGRAM SESSIONS OF VARIOUS LENGTHS (1.5-5 HOURS; 55 TOTAL HOURS OF IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING) AND REACHED MORE THAN 100 UNIQUE BEGINNER CREATORS. THESE PROGRAMS WERE COORDINATED IN COLLABORATION WITH 7 ORGANIZATIONS TO WHICH THE CREATORS WERE ALREADY CONNECTED, INCLUDING A LIBRARY, A MUSIC CAMP, AND A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. NEARLY HALF OF THE CREATORS ENGAGED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS PARTICIPATED IN MULTIPLE SESSIONS, AND MANY HAVE AN ONGOING RELATIONSHIP WITH CREATEACCESS. IN LONG-TERM PROGRAMS THAT IMPLEMENTED PRE AND POST-SURVEYS, PARTICIPANTS SELF-REPORTED A 108% INCREASE IN AWARENESS OF BASIC 3D CREATION TOOLS AND HOW TO USE THEM; A 91% INCREASE IN ABILITY TO CREATE IN THE 3D SPACE ON THEIR OWN AND LEARN TO DO NEW THINGS WITH LITTLE OR NO HELP; AND A 47% INCREASE IN AWARENESS OF CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN 3D CREATION AND KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS THAT SUPPORT PATHS TO THESE CAREERS. CREATEACCESS IDENTIFIED ANOTHER NONPROFIT THAT PROVIDES RECYCLED HARDWARE TO ORGANIZATIONS IN NEED AT NO COST, AND WORKED WITH THIS NONPROFIT TO SET UP CREATOR LABS WITH DONATED HARDWARE AT THREE OF CREATEACCESS' COLLABORATING ORGANIZATIONS. CREATEACCESS SUBSEQUENTLY FACILITATED PROGRAMS AT EACH OF THESE COLLABORATING ORGANIZATIONS THAT USED THE DONATED HARDWARE. 2. CREATEACCESS PUBLISHED 13 HEAVILY-TESTED, BEGINNER-FOCUSED 3D CREATION LESSONS AND MADE THEM FREELY-AVAILABLE AVAILABLE ON ITS WEBSITE. THE LESSONS TOTALED 213 PAGES OF WRITTEN TEXT AND MORE THAN 90 MINUTES OF VIDEO. 3. CREATEACCESS HIRED, TRAINED, AND SUPPORTED 10 PAID STUDENT AND EMERGING PROFESSIONAL INTERNS, WHO WORKED FOR MORE THAN 1,600 TOTAL HOURS WITH CREATEACCESS. THE INTERNS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN FACILITATING 3D CREATOR PROGRAMS AND DEVELOPING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, WHILE DEVELOPING THEIR OWN 3D TECHNOLOGY SKILLS AND BUILDING A CULTURE IN THE TECH COMMUNITY OF GIVING BACK. 4. CREATEACCESS RAISED AWARENESS OF 3D CREATION IN THE BROADER COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING 4 TALKS AT UNIVERSITIES, 2 TALKS AT HIGH SCHOOLS, 1 HANDS-ON TRAINING FOR STAFF AT A COLLABORATING ORGANIZATION, AND 2 INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR EDUCATORS. ADDITIONALLY, CREATEACCESS HELPED COORDINATE A VISIT/TOUR FOR 25 STUDENTS FROM ONE OF ITS PROGRAMS TO A LOCAL TECH COMPANY. | $0 | $58,977 |
