Our mission is to break the cycle of violence and build a thriving community of rooted leaders in Wake County through prevention, intervention, healing and advocacy. As Raleigh and the surrounding municipalities emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic, crime in general, and particularly violent crime, has risen according to most recent reports by various agencies. This affects not only the direct victims of violence, but also the communities who are caught in its wake.Our goal is to continue to make our community a safe and welcoming environment for anyone who wishes to live here. Boots, community partners, and the CVI ecosystem will use a holistic approach to improve the quality of life for all residents and aim to end the current violence.

| Hospital & Community Violence Intervention Program - The mission is to rethink violence as a health issue that can be prevented by providing trauma-informed care in partnership. The key components of the program are, Intervention: Begin with an immediate intervention in the emergency department or at the hospital bedside. Care: In the months following the injury, there will be intensive, long-term community-based case management services. Follow Up Services: Crisis intervention, linkages to community-based services, mentoring, home visits, follow-up assistance, and long- term case management are provided by culturally-competent frontline workers who are from the same or similar communities as the clients they serve. Addressing the Social Determinants of Health: Addressing inequality and building partnerships with communities and survivors of violence can help deal with the issue of the revolving door of violence. The goals of the program are, work with victims from 6 months to a year, meet mental health needs, reduce drug and alcohol addiction and reduce criminal activity.
