“Athletes journey home serves athletes worldwide, with a primary focus on those recovering from traumatic brain injuries and mental health challenges resulting from high-impact sports. Our organization currently operates several active programs centered on education, research, and integrative recovery support. The athlete recovery and integration initiative connects athletes with safe, evidence-based healing modalities, including legal psychedelic-assisted therapy retreats and wellness programs in regions where such therapies are permitted. This initiative provides guidance, integration support, and ongoing community connection for athletes navigating post-fight trauma, depression, and neurological recovery. We also run the athletes journey home podcast, hosted by ian mccall and mark irwin, which features conversations with athletes, medical experts, and researchers from around the world. The podcast raises awareness about tbi recovery, mental health, and innovative treatment options, helping to destigmatize alternative healing practices within sports communities. In addition, ajh organizes community outreach events, educational panels, and film screenings throughout the year to expand public understanding of brain injury recovery and psychedelic-assisted wellness. These gatherings foster connection, share success stories, and build bridges between athletes, scientists, and supporters united by the mission of redefining recovery and returning home to oneself. Mark irwin raised 50k while fighting for a world bare knuckle boxing title in dever colorado for the bkb organization. The owner of the organization donated the 50k so we could host a tbi study and psilocybin retreat in portland oregon at the experience onward center. Eight world class athletes went through the therapy and we shot a mini documentary showing the amazing results.”
