“Cleveland arts education consortiums mission is to promote and strengthen arts education in northeast ohio and advocate on behalf of arts learning for people of all ages and circumstances.”
“About cleveland arts education since our formation in 1999, cleveland arts education consortium has become northeast ohio's largest professional arts education service organization. As a diverse, member-driven organization that believes in the immense value of arts education for all, we focus on the needs of arts educators and the organizations they represent. Through networking, professional development and information sharing programs and projects, we 1) help strengthen members work; 2) create unique opportunities to learn about relevant needs and best practices; and 3) provide useful introductions and connections with the area's broad non-arts community and service providers. As a vital community resource, we encourage all members, regardless of organizational size or discipline, to join with us to support positive policy and funding for arts education. We know it is crucial to 'sound the trumpet' to support arts education in myriad ways that ensure that the arts will continue be a vibrant part of all lives in every circumstance across northeast ohio. Throughout fy25, cleveland arts education consortium celebrates 25 years of service, having recently closed a 15-year community residency at cleveland state university and becoming our own independent 501(c)(3). Caec is co- locating and partnering with assembly for the arts to benefit cuyahoga county's arts sector and all arts endeavors, including arts education. Membership: organizational memberships are available for those that provide introductory or immersive learning opportunities through all arts disciplines. Annual member dues from 50 to 100 are based on an organization's reported annual budget. Leadership partners support caec with larger annual dues, 200 to 5,000. Of the consortium's more than 120 members, 33 have become leadership partners. We are grateful for our members' belief and investment in caec and their active support of our shared work and vision. Benefits of membership: 1) caec network - our active, interconnected network of members and colleagues with opportunities to join focused committee groups around project guidance and program planning; 2) programs - a wide range of formal and informal programs around important topics, e.g. Best practices, program quality and evaluation, arts education funding, technology and marketing, collaboration, leadership (often in partnership with national guild for community arts education), diverse racial, generational and societal inclusion and equity, and much more; 3) rates - special member rates for caec pd sessions (fees waved during the pandemic); and 4) resources - inclusion in caec's "ready to go arts programs" booklet and participation in caec-led surveys and research about arts and arts learning. Arts in education: caec leaders and members helped develop cleveland metropolitan school district's robust arts curriculum.
