Part III, line 28 (continued):

In 2024, Hope for the Destitute (HFTD) continued to expand its impact by sponsoring a greater number of orphans and vulnerable children compared to previous years. Kibos Hope Academy remained central to this effort, offering a safe residential environment where children could pursue their education while receiving shelter, nutrition, and emotional support. The Academy enrolled a total of 113 students during the year, reflecting steady growth in enrollment and outreach to both sponsored children and children from the surrounding community. This year marked a significant transition in the Kenyan education system from the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) framework. Under this system, the national exam changed to the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), taken at the end of Grade 6 before students advance to Junior Secondary School (Grades 79). Kibos Hope Academy successfully adapted to this new curriculum and celebrated another milestone when 32 students registered for the KPSEA national exam. Of these candidates, 17 were boys and 15 were girls, underscoring the Academys commitment to ensuring equitable access to education for both boys and girls. To sustain a strong academic environment, the Academy retained 11 teachers who provided instruction and mentorship to the students, along with 5 non-teaching staff members who supported school management and daily operations. This dedicated team ensured that children continued to receive quality education alongside holistic care. The widows shelter program, while central to HFTDs long-term vision, did not commence in 2024. Instead, organizational resources remained focused on strengthening the education program and ensuring children successfully transitioned within the restructured national education system. Through these accomplishments, HFTD not only increased the number of children served but also demonstrated resilience and adaptability in navigating systemic educational reforms. The organization continues to provide life-changing opportunities for vulnerable children, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty through education.
