“The purpose of ka'eo athletics project is to teach self-defense and confidence building yjjrpogh athletic programming such as muay thai, surfing and jiujitsu. The goal is to provide community empowerment through athletics and martial arts”

“Ka'eo athletics project non-profit (501(c)(3)) was founded in 2023 with the goal of empowering our community through martial arts. Since opening our gym in april 2023, we have accomplished a lot of great achievements for our community and built a solid foundation with our growing group of dedicated students. In 2023, we also hosted several free community self-defense events, worked hard on training students, and entered several local and statewide competitions for muay thai and jiujitsu. In 2023, 14 of our students competed in the several mdl (muay thai development league) events on oahu, scoring extremely well and achieving national recognition for our fight system. 3 of our students also competed in the mtaac (muay thai amateur athletic circuit) and won their bouts. We also had 5 students compete in the hawaii triple crown jiujitsu events in hilo and waimea, with all students winning gold or silver medals for their divisions. One of our students won a national heavyweight title for usa kickboxing and is going to compete in chile for the pan american games representing team usa. Our kids self-defense program has doubled in the past few months and has had great results in building their confidence and self-esteem both on and off the mats. We also recently added our kupuna (senior) mobility program, which focuses on gentle strength training and mobility exercises for our elderly loved ones, and this program is taking off.”
