ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0Our organization sincerely apologizes for filing our Form 990 after the deadline. This was an honest administrative oversight during a period of staff turnover and increased program activity. We exercised ordinary business care and prudence but inadvertently missed the due date while managing essential services for our beneficiaries. We recognized the error and submitted the return as soon as possible. We have now implemented a procedure for more frequent deadline reviews and multiple staff reminders to prevent this situation from occurring again. We respectfully request penalty abatement as there was no neglect or intentional disregard for IRS guidelines.
