Feeding Hearts Program Homelessness Support Purpose: Provide meals essential items and access to basic services for Austins unhoused population. Accomplishments: Served over 20,000 hot meals and beverages to individuals experiencing homelessness at the Oasis at the ARCH in Downtown Austin and encampments. Distributed clothing hygiene kits and coordinated access to free vision glasses and health insurance via local partnerships. Provided mental health support through wellness conversations and resource referrals. Held over 30 outreach events creating safe spaces for the unhoused to feel seen heard and cared for. Number of persons benefited: 5,000+ individuals served over the year.$0$45,000
Education & Youth Empowerment Purpose: Equip children and teens in low-income communities with the resources and inspiration to succeed in school and life. Accomplishments: Delivered afterschool programs focused on empowerment literacy and mentorship. Donated school supplies backpacks and meals to over 300 children across multiple underserved neighborhoods. Hosted Empowerment Days for youth particularly young girls teaching leadership confidence and goal setting. Partnered with the 2Gen Coalition to support single mothers with access to higher education and child care. Number of persons benefited: 320 children and 40 single mothers supported in 2024.$0$33,000
Program 4: Refugee & Community Assistance: The Sow Family Foundation provided critical support to refugees and underserved residents by distributing survival kits that included essential items such as first aid supplies hygiene products and toiletry kits. In addition to these resources we offered prepared meals and clean drinking water ensuring that families facing displacement or crisis had access to immediate life-sustaining care. This program is rooted in our belief that every individual deserves dignity and access to basic human necessities especially in moments of transition and uncertainty. Number of persons benefited: 150+ refugees and underserved individuals in 2024.$0$7,500
Healthcare Awareness & Access Purpose: Educate vulnerable communities on preventative health and facilitate access to care. Accomplishments: Organized breast cancer awareness events in partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Center and local plastic surgeons. Educated men and women on early detection prevention and how to navigate the diagnosis and treatment process. Distributed informational materials in both English and Spanish and hosted open Q&A sessions. In 2024 the Sow Family Foundation allocated $92,500 towards serving the unhoused and underserved communities primarily through its Feeding Hearts Program and other community support initiatives. These funds provided over 20,000 meals beverages and essential supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness in Austin Texas ensuring access to nourishment and basic necessities. Additionally we provided free clothing to Austins underserved community offered free counseling for individuals facing mental health challenges and facilitated access to health insurance through partnerships ensuring essential support for those in need. Beyond food assistance a portion of these funds supported educational programs and healthcare awareness efforts including breast cancer prevention initiatives and mentorship programs for low-income youth. The SOW Family Foundation also helped single mothers in the 2 Gen Coalition gain access to scholarships and childcare support empowering them to pursue higher education and break the cycle of poverty. The SOW Family Foundation also helped single mothers in the 2 Gen Coalition gain access to scholarships and childcare support empowering them to pursue higher education and break the cycle of poverty.
