“Our non-profit organization supports, promotes and encourages participation in events and competitions for all ffa members. The booster club members (parents, advisors, student members) strive each year to make the ffa at hialeah gardens high school a very rewarding experience for the students and members and at the same time an enjoyable experience. The general fund financial support will vary from year to year. However, the funds are historically used for scholarships, capital improvements, recognition banquets & receptions, equipment replacement and maintenance, club travel expenses, senior graduate gifts, seniors signage & banners, and concession stands operations. Hialeah gardens ffa booster club contributes to 12 competitive events - totaling 26 different teams (cde, lde, fair shows with livestock, exhibits at fairs).”

“Hialeah gardens high school ffa club is our local high school chapter affi liated with the national ffa. Our students participate in competitions that are focused on career development, leadership development, and in participating in the showcasing of our livestock/farm animals at the miami-dade youth fair and exposition. The ffa motto is: learning to do, doing to learn, living to serve, serving to live. Following our motto, we provide funding for our students to participate in the competitions, fi eld trips, and any other opportunities that provide them with experiences and education to help them be prepared for the workplace, for higher education, and for being civic minded members of society. Being prepared for participation in as many events as possible for as many students as possible requires our classroom to be the main hub for students, where they can prepare their competition materials, therefore our classroom must be maintained with the proper equipment/materials such as color printer, paper, journals, and books. We, at hialeah gardens high school, also have a farm that has cows, goats, rabbits, chickens, and ducks. These animals have their daily needs to keep them healthy and safe. These animals are the animals that students showcase at our local youth fair. Students maintain the farm by cleaning and disinfecting, monitoring the nutritional needs of every individual animal, maintaining the cages/pens, and in grooming the animals. The inventory of tools for cleaning and for farm maintenance is one of the larger costs for our program and provides our students with the proper animal husbandry skills so that they may properly care for our animals.”
