Profile
The mission of The Carmel Basketball Academy (CBA) is to link our elementary travel program (Pups) with Carmel HS Basketball. The CBA will provide, regular, year-round development opportunities and academy training sessions for select middle school student-athletes. We believe this will strengthen an already incredible communitybased feeder program. Future Greyhounds will be introduced to program concepts, common terminology and fundamental practices. Players will be provided opportunities to compete alongside and against the best. This will enhance their skills and knowledge as they prepare to one day wear the Blue and Gold. The consistency of methodology, instruction, language and expectations from second grade through middle school provides the groundwork allowing for a smooth transition to the Eric Clark Activity Center. The CBA strives to instill a passion for Greyhound basketball while placing an emphasis on character, commitment, communication, relentless effort and pride. The CB

|---|---|---|
| The Carmel Basketball Academy trains youth in the sport of basketball with an emphasis on the foundational pillars (attitude, commitment, passion and pride) and values (humility, accountability, gratitude and unity). The Academy strives to instill a passion for basketball while placing an emphasis on character, commitment, communication, relentless effort and pride. The activities are held at Carmel High School approximately 2-3 days per week during Sessions 1, 2 and 3 for approximately 55-75 participants throughout the year. The officers of the organization focus on player development and serve as coaches alongside other individuals. Technical skills and teamwork are the main focus of this training, accounting for 90 percent of the officer's total time, with the other 10 percent being administrative processing of paperwork, grant applications and scheduling. Currently, activities are funded by dues paid by participants, by fundraising related to the Charlie Hughes tournament and while also pursuing donations from the community. These activities create a healthier community and educate children in an activity that can be enjoyed year round, increasing physical activity and wellness in our youth. Additionally, the children learn sportsmanship and how to support each other which are vital skills to take into adulthood. | - | $57,493 |
