Mission

To serve low-income green county wisconsin households by providing healthy and nutritious food, and linking household members to employment opportunities, community resources, non-profit programming, and governmental benefits to improve the economic condition of the household. We assist in providing the basic needs for our clients by ensuring all people have access to nutritious food. We promote quality of life for all and community engagement, and we serve as an advocate for low-income citizens.

Green cares has a basic belief - no one should be hungry. The goals of green cares food pantry are to assist in providing the basic needs for our clients by ensuring all people have access to nutritious food, especially for our youth and elderly; to promote quality of life for all; to serve as an advocate for low-income citizens and to promote community engagement.

During the year, the organization amended its bylaws to revise director terms and staggering of board service. Director terms were changed from two-year terms to three-year terms, with terms continuing until a successor is elected. The bylaws were further amended to change the staggering of director terms from approximately one-half of directors ending their terms each year to approximately one-third each year. The bylaws also updated the definition of a director's term of office to run from january 1 to december 31 of the third year, rather than through the second year, unless extended until a successor is elected.

ITS GOALS ARE TO ASSIST IN PROVIDING THE BASIC NEEDS FOR LOW-INCOME CLIENTS BY ENSURING ALL PEOPLE HAVE ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD, ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH AND ELDERLY; TO PROMOTE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL; TO SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE FOR LOW-INCOME CITIZENS AND TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.IN 2024, THE PANTRY SERVED A TOTAL OF 3,060 HOUSEHOLDS WITH A TOTAL OF 7,559 INDIVIDUALS. OF THESE 29.8% WERE CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18, 43.2% WERE ADULTS AGED 18-59, AND 27% WERE ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 60. THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT PANTRIES EACH WEEK AT VARIOUS TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF NEARLY 40 HOURS A MONTH STAFFED BY ALL VOLUNTEERS. OUR GOAL IS SIMPLY TO SEE THAT NO ONE GOES HUNGRY IN GREEN COUNTY.
