Founded in 1982 by a group of dedicated alaskan business leaders, alpar's programs help clean up alaska's communities, roadways, parks, beaches and waterways and assist with recycling initiatives throughout alaska.

Other programs include alpar flying cans and pet bottles, where rural communities recycled over 50,000 pounds of aluminum cans and pet bottles. Anchorage can-do kids is a program where children can earn pocket money and prizes when they turn in aluminum cans at the anchorage recycling center.
