“Reach is organized under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code as a not-for-profit, taxexempt organization for all income except unrelated business income as noted under section 511 of the internal revenue code. Internal revenue code section 513(a) defines an unrelated trade or business of an exempt organization as any trade or business which is not substantially related to the exercise or performance of its exempt purpose. Reachs most significant tax positions are its assertion that it is exempt from income taxes to the extent that its activities are within its tax- exempt mission, and its determination whether any activities are not within its mission and are therefore subject to unrelated business income tax (ubit). All significant tax positions have been considered by management. Management has determined that it is more likely than not that all tax positions would be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization follows the provisions of fasb asc 740 income taxes. Reach is not classified as a private foundation. The organizations federal income tax returns (form 990) are subject to possible examination by the internal revenue service until the expiration of the related statute of limitations on those tax returns, which, in general, have a three-year statute of limitations.”
