“The bylaws were amended as follows: 1. Detailed job descriptions for each elected position to clarify qualifications, job expectations, both for current officers and for individuals considering running for office. 2. Addition of the pta caucus representative with qualifications, job descriptions and term of office. 3. Increasing the terms of office for the chief delegate to 3 years and for the chapter delegate to 2 years. 4. Addition of term limits for elected positions. The prior bylaws had no term limits attached to the positions. 5. Added an additional member to the nominating committee, who will be an individual who has finished a term on the executive committee. This person will serve as an ex-officio (non-voting) member. 6. Decreased the total number of individuals on the nominating committee from five to three. This was done in order to facilitate better communication among a smaller group with the assistance of the ex-officio member. 7. Added clarification of election procedures, and years in which elections would occur for the different positions. 8. Reduced the number of votes required to validate an election in order to be more in line with current election returns.”
