“We are a membership organization that serves for the benefit of our members.”
“Our board elections are held each year in july, and the members that are eligible to vote (all except for non-profit and associate level) vote to elect usually three to five members of the board for three-year terms. The number elected each year varies based upon when each director's term is over. These members join the ranks of "elected" board members. In essence, the voting membership is controlling who they want on the board by their votes. The chairman of the board is elected each year by the elected board members. As a result, the chairman's seat on the board is also controlled by the voting membership of the organization.”
