“Wspha has two types of memberships: individual and organizational. Individual members are persons actively engaged in the practice, research, teaching of, or interested in, public/population health. Organizational membership is open to organizations engaged in the practice, research, teaching of, or interest in, public/population health.”

“The organization's conflict of interest policy applies to all board members and employees. Board members review and sign a conflict of interest form annually. Any possible conflict of interest on the part of board member or employee is disclosed in full detail, and such person abstains from voting on the matter. Once individual has disclosed a potential conflict of interest, they may participate in the discussion stage of the board meeting. The president of the board is the arbiter in determining whether a conflict of interest does or does not exist, unless it involves the president, at which time the president-elect becomes the arbiter.”

“Board members are volunteers and are not compensated. The executive director is an employee who is compensated with salary. This is determined by the board. At the anniversary of employment, the president invites the board to review the executive director's performance. At the same time the president will research and provide the board with data on competitive compensation for the position. The president and the executive director have an annual assessment in which performance and compensation are discussed.”
