Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Woodland Action Center believes in offering, with dignity, basic human resources, nurtitional education, and opportunities for self-sufficiency to people in the crisis of poverty in Woodland, La Center, and surrounding rural communities (of SW Washington).

Food bank: distribute food boxes on a weekly basis serving an average of 400 families per week. Distribute usda commodities monthly to approximately 100 families in needclothing bank: distribute clothing, furniture, and household items to families in need varying from 15 to 30 families per dayprogram service accomplishments: services: referrals to agencies including medical and dental clinics in the area to 15-30 clients per week. Assist individuals in completing forms for job, welfare, and housing applications, ets. Averaging 6 to 14 per day. Provide 3 to 4 foreign language translations per day between local agencies and clients. Provide rental assistance to individuals in need.
