“The process for reviewing the 990 form begins with approval of the financial statements for the year recently ended. The board is familiar with financial statement review and are able to understand the components and the function and relationship between the income statement and balance sheet. A copy of form 990 is made available during preparation so it can be reviewed prior to the meeting. The board assists with input regarding program service accomplishments and the wording of descriptions of the organization's mission statement. A completed copy of the 990 form is available online and in printed copy.”

“The Executive Committee is responsible for researching, finding and providing background information to the Board. A search committee may be established in order to provide potential candidates. Industry-specific compensation and job qualifications are researched and presented to the board. This process was applied in our search for Executive Director in 2019.”
