Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The moyer foundation is a public, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide comfort, hope and healing to children and families affected by grief and addiction. Founded in 2000 by mlb pitcher jamie moyer and his wife karen, the moyer foundation supports thousands of children and families each year through its programs and services offered free of charge. Camp erin is the largest national bereavement program for children and teens grieving the death of someone significant in their lives. Camp mariposa is an addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth impacted by the substance abuse of a family member. The moyer foundation resource center extends the foundation's continuum of care by providing robust online resources and personalized support for families experiencing grief or addiction.

The moyer foundation signed a contract with forum solutions to employ board member shelley holm for the period april - july 2015 to act as interim executive director after kevin sullivan resigned and before mary fitzgerald was hired. Shelley holm was recused from her board responsibility and voting right while under the contract period and rejoined the board after the contract ended. Expense totaled $64,139.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The foundation is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and, therefore, no provision for income taxes is included in the accompanying financial statements. The foundation files federal form 990 and has not filed a form 990t. With few exceptions, the foundation is no longer subject to u.s. Federal or state and local income tax examinations by tax authorities for the years before 2012. It is difficult to predict the final timing and resolution of any particular uncertain tax position. The foundation does not currently anticipate significant changes in its uncertain tax position over the next 12 months.

CAMP ERIN IS THE LARGEST NATIONAL BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS GRIEVING THE DEATH OF SOMEONE SIGNIFICANT IN THEIR LIVES. CAMP MARIPOSA IS AN ADDICTION PREVENTION AND MENTORING PROGRAM FOR YOUTH IMPACTED BY THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE OF A FAMILY MEMBER. THE MOYER FOUNDATION RESOURCE CENTER EXTENDS THE FOUNDATION'S CONTINUUM OF CARE BY PROVIDING ROBUST ONLINE RESOURCES AND PERSONALIZED SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES EXPERIENCING GRIEF OR ADDICTION.
