Mpec's governing body is its executive board, which is composed of elected officers. The organization's members are engineering, scientific and administrative professionals who are employed by the state of maryland and who opt to join the council.

The organization's executive board is responsible for oversight of the audit, as well as for the selection of the independent accountant.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Management is required to evaluate tax positions taken by the council and to recognize a tax liability if the council has taken an uncertain position, that more likely than not, would not be sustained upon examination by the u.s. Federal, state, and local taxing authorities. The council is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. Typically, tax years will remain open for three years; however, this may differ depending upon the circumstances of the council.
