THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERESTED PARTIES TO FURTHER SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND THEREBY SUPPORT VARIOUS LOCAL CIVIC AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES. A SUMMARY OF THIS YEARS ACHIEVEMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:OPERATION SANTA CLOTHES:THE VICTOR VALLEY SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB WORKED WITH TEACHERS, PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE TO IDENTIFY NEEDY CHILDREN. THIS YEAR THE CLUB PARTNERED WITH SUPER TARGET TO PROVIDE 71 NEEDY CHILDREN WITH TOYS AND CLOTHES.INTERACT CLUB: THE CLUB SPONSORED AN INTERACT CLUB AT EXCELSIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN VICTORVILLE CA. THIS IS A CLUB FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 12-18 WHO WANT TO JOIN TOGETHER TO TACKLE THE ISSUES IN THEIR COMMUNITY. THRU INTERACT, THE CLUB MEMBERS CAN CARRY OUT HANDS-ON SERVICE PROJECTS, MAKE INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS, DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND HAVE FUN.ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS (RYLA): THE CLUB SPONSORS THE RYLA TRAINING PROGRAM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, EMPHASIZING LEADERSHIP, CITIZENSHIP AND PERSONAL GROWTH. TWO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE SPONSORED THIS YEAR.TEAM LEADERSHIP CAMP (TLC): THE CLUB SPONSORS THE TLC LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM FOR 8TH GRADERS. THE CLUB SPONSORED 2 STUDENTS WHO INTERACTED AND PARTICIPATED WITH 180 OTHER 8TH GRADERS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.FOUR- WAY SPEECH CONTEST 2014: OUR CLUB HOSTED THE FOUR WAY SPEECH CONTEST, A ROTARY CONTEST THAT INVITES STUDENTS FROM LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS TO COMPETE. THIS YEARS THEME WAS ENGAGE ROTARY, CHANGE LIVES. STUDENTS SHARE PERSPECTIVES ON THE ROTARY'S FOUR WAY TEST. STUDENTS FROM 14 LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS WERE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE. THREE STUDENTS WERE SELECTED TO GO ON TO THE DISTRICT LEVEL AND ONE OF OUR PARTICIPATES WAS A RUNNER UP AT THE ROTARY DISTRICT CONFERENCE.THE CLUB MADE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE VICTOR VALLEY COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. FOUR SCHOLARSHIP RECEPIENTS WERE SELECTED AND RECEIVED $500 EACH.ROTARY DISTRICT, ROTARY FOUNDATION AND ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS: OUR CLUB DONATED $1,000 TO THE "NO LIMITS" ORGANIZATION FOR DEAF AND HARD-OF-HEARING CHILDREN. OUR CLUB ALSO MADE VARIOUS ROTARY FOUNDATION COMMITMENTS THAT HELPED TO SUPPORT WORLD-WIDE PROGRAMS WHICH PROVIDE CLEAN WATER, PROMOTE LITERACY, CONTINUE TO ERADICATE POLIO, FUND MATCHING GRANTS, EXCHANGES AND SCHOLARSHIPS.$20,240-
