Financial Statement Notes

Part IV, Line 2B:

The Organization acts as a fiscal agent for Skagit Housing Consortium (SHC). During the year, they collected membership fees and provided staff time to manage monthly meetings. SHC retains control of the funds which can only be spent by the Organization if approved by the SHC board. The year-end liability to SHC was $20,200 at December 31, 2024, Prior to 2024, the Organization served as a fiscal agent for Skagit Tourism Bureau (STB) and did not retain ultimate discretion and control over the use of the funds. The relationship formally ended at 12/31/23 when STB applied for its own nonprofit, exempt status and began operating on its own. In 2024, the Organization acted as a facilitator of a grant for STB while STB continued to await IRS approval of nonprofit, exempt status. The year-end liability to STB was $5,420 at December 31, 2024.

EDASC supports existing Skagit companies, and works with prospective companies on site location, workforce training, identifying resources, accessing capital, permitting, research, and other forms of assistance. EDASC initiatives create and support a favorable business climate with strategies that focus on improving assets and amenities within Skagit County. EDASC convenes and connects stakeholders to work on improving local assets on critical issues such as workforce, housing, childcare, and power supply.
