“For 8 large concerts in professional concert halls, in mt vernon and bellingham, washingtion. Professional instructors trained the groups of musicians, ages 6 through 20. Total membership varied between 110-130 participants. Smaller ensembles from our large orchestras also performed in community outreach appearances. On all of the performances, music from other cultures and countries was performed, with historic explanation, and on two concerts, the instrumental musicians collaborated with a bellingham concert choir from squalicum high school, to perform a large work by portugals most revered composer; joly braga santos. A week-long summer intensive music training course was held at camp brotherhood in mount vernon, during which many musical styles were studied and performed.”
