Prior to filing, the form 990 was reviewed by the cfo, the ceo, and the finance committee of the board of directors. A copy of the form 990 was provided to all voting board members prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The organization's conflict of interest policy applies to the board of directors, officers and staff. Individuals are required to complete a conflict of interest disclosure form annually and to inform the ceo of any new conflicts that arise during the year. If a board member has an actual or potential conflict in relation to a transaction, they're required to disclose the material facts and leave the room for the remaining discussion and vote on the matter. The remaining board members discuss the situation and determine the appropriate resolution of the situation.

The board reviews and decides ceo compensation. The ceo approves all other employee compensation as part of the annual budget-setting process. The hr department uses a consultant to develop comparable data for all positions. Compensation reviews occur annually.

Hfh maintains a volunteer tracking system for unique volunteers and shifts and hours performed, including tracking for both partner families (pf) and non-partner family volunteers. For the fiscal year, 2,148 volunteers worked a total of 28,567 hours in 5,448 shifts. The types of services provided included construction, home repairs, habitat stores, board of directors and committee members service, plus videography and photography. Volunteers are tracked at each location by the number of hours that they worked at the specific location in our volunteer database.
