“Skamania county economic development council contracts with skamania county, washington state, city of stevenson, skamania pud, city of north bonneville and port of skamania to provide for various economic development efforts. Successful grant and loan assistance - the edc assisted various agencies in obtaining funding for the port managed wind river business park and cascades business park, city of stevenson wastewater system, pud upgrades to the north bonneville substation as well as continued support for the south gifford pinchot collaborative and usfs spotted owl survey. Priority project funding needs for current local projects are maintained by edc staff and approved quarterly through the county commissioners by resolution. The edc also funded three private loans and three loan reworks. Regional accomplishments - the edc organized and worked on our vision for the year 2020-2022 through planning sessions for the edc, continued to participate in gorge technology alliance, association of washington businesses and washington economic development association events and meetings, the south gifford pinchot collaborative, the south central workforce development council, mcedd's gorge economic symposium, and the gorge commission and forest serivce on wib/oib bi-state agency updates and activities. Local accomplishments/involvement - the edc managed several local events and processes in 2019 including: facilitating the buildable lands survey with skamania county, city of stevenson and pud. The edc also continued its involvement in local organizations such as stevenson downtown association, the chamber of commerce, as well as support for the local school district and the stevenson-carson educational foundation.”
